Useful technological terms for e-commerce



Internet Website Cookies

Cookies are small files that the website generate to help gather information about the user, enabling the websites to personalize the user experience. For example, ecommerce websites use cookies to know what merchandise users have placed in their shopping carts. In addition, some cookies are necessary for security purposes, such as authentication cookies.

UI
User Interface is very important part of the computer. It is the part that the user can touch, see or hear. As Wilbert O. Galitz said 'the goals of interface design are simple; to make working with a computer easy, productive and enjoyable.' 

Page source

According to Cambridge Dictionary a source 'is the place something comes from or stars at, or the cause of something'. (

When it comes to internet a page source is a code that tells us the information about the website. 

Meta tags

These are parts of codes of text that help search engines and website visitors better understand the content found on a website page. Meta tags are not the actual content that is featured on the page.(Barysevich, 2020)

jQuery

It is a future-rich JavaScript library created by John Resig in 2006, that's designed to simplify the client-site scripting of HTML.


Hyperlinks

According to Cambridge Dictionary hyperlink is 'a word, phrase, or image on a website or in a computer document which you click on in order to go to a different website, different part of the document, etc.'(HYPERLINK | English meaning - Cambridge Dictionary, 2023)
